A kinetic projector in a steam-punk look – an ode to circus art
„A mobile is visual poetry which dances with joie vivre and surprises“, says Alexander Calder, the inventor of this large artistic mobile.
This is where Bernard Paul’s dreams, which have become a circus legend, dance above the circus ring and they greet the audience this anniversary year. Via three large projectors 40 years of circus come to life in images and circle over the audience’s heads – close enough to touch. Once everyone is seated, and before the lights go out, this mobile is quickly folded up. Three large bells give them equilibrium. Then the clowns enter and have such fun ringing in the show – until it’s time to “clear the ring”.
This is how the tradition of circus is invigorated and preserved.
