Of course, an old washing machine cylinder is no music box. Or is it? Naturally, a piano does not consist of glass shards. Or does it? And a gong sunk in water resounding loudly – of what use is that? Without a doubt it is great fun to observe it and to hear it! It is the same with the piano of shards, the magical box, and all the other odds and ends in the Aquagraviphon. Watering cans, soup spoons, and hot-water bottle seems to have been awakened and are dancing and drumming. And suddenly there is sound and movement, play and enchantment everywhere. A fountain? Yes. Art? Obviously. A game? Naturally. An instrument? That, too. Full of secrets. Full of fun. Full of fascination. To amaze. To participate. To delight.
On exhibit in the Water Exhibition at Phaeno Museum Wolfsburg since May of 2010.
